About Our Council
Loma Linda Council #9037 was Chartered on June 5, 1985. It supports the Parish of St. Joseph the Worker in Loma Linda, California. Both the Parish and the Council are located in a Seventh day Adventist City. This makes our Council and Parish very unique. We have 53 members, including 3 Priests, in various Parishes in the Diocese of San Bernardino. Our Catholic Chaplain is the Loma Linda Seventh Day University Hospital Chaplain. This year we have participated with (4) 4th Degree Assemblies, Council #4488 and the Arrowhead Desert Chapter in furnishing the proper Mass paraphernalia to the New Arrowhead County Hospital Chapel. Over the past 14 years our Council has received numerous State and Supreme Awards. 50% of our membership participate in various Church and/or Community Programs. Our 10th Annual Religious & Clergy Night Mass & Dinner was a well supported success. Our Council is currently supporting 2 Seminarians and we participate in the Operation Share & Care Program. Our Council will participate in the annual MRD and hope to raise $500.00 to the California Junior Olympics. Our Church/Community Program, "Operation Share & Care" begins October 23 and continues through December 19, 1999 to provide Thanksgiving & Christmas food baskets for the needy. The council supports a 3rd degree Flag Honor Guard for all occasions. This year they have performed at the Opening Baseball Game of the San Bernardino Stampede as well as the 4th of July and Closing game.
